Uiteraard heb ik de hele buurt bij elkaar gegild; ik heb er nog keelpijn van. En je hebt gelijk, caught moet het zijn. Ik vond het al een raar woord, maar via interglot.com kreeg ik catched. Moet ook niet dit soort dingen schrijven als ik bijna slaap.

The standard past tense form of “catch” in modern English is not “catched,” but “caught.”

It was indeed some good physical exercise. I’ve been rather busy at work so it was a good way to relax. And my body clearly showed that is wasn’t used to this exercise; muscle aces and sore knees, but it was worth it.

No idea where Karfreitag is coming from; nothing like our Goede vrijdag or Good Friday in English. I don’t complain, an extra long weekend is always welcome!

Nee, dat wist ik ook niet. Maar in plaats van de gebruikelijke 3 dagen, hebben ze hier ongeveer 1.5 week feest gehad; voornamelijk ‘s avonds en in het weekend.

Today’s English lessons:
“where welcomed with a high tea” –> “were welcomed with a high tea”: that’s just a stupid mistake.
“they noticed me of their arrival” –> “they notified me of their arrival”: thanks.
“the rest of the evening we spend talking” –> “the rest of the evening we spent talking”: had thought about that but still chose the wrong one.
“dusk came in already around 15.30hrs and we were around 15hrs in Tralee” –> “dusk came in already around 15.30 and we were in Tralee around 15.00″ (In English, “hrs” is never added to the time, except when indicating duration. The way you wrote it, you spent 15 hours in Tralee.): thanks.
“where Cork is famous for” –> “what Cork is famous for”: had no idea about that.
“driving twice wrong” –> “driving wrong twice”: sounded already weird.
