The Desert Wheatear is native to Africa and Asia. Vagrants sometimes end up in Western Europe, especially late in autumn. This species is rare in the Netherlands, with at most a few sightings reported each year. This individual was discovered near Schiphol airport on November 17.
De woestijntapuit komt van nature voor in Afrika en Azië. Dwaalgasten worden soms in West-Europa gezien, met name laat in de herfst. Deze soort is in Nederland zeldzaam, met hooguit een paar gevallen per jaar. De vogel op de foto is op 17 november bij Schiphol ontdekt.
