I travelled to Germany a few days after my parents, brother and sister, so the camper trailer (caravan) and tents had already been set up when I arrived. A 9.5-hour train ride took me to Passau (on the German-Austrian border, 70 km south of the camp ground), where the other four were waiting for me.

002
Our first trip took us to the Großer Arber mountain, where we took a cable car to the top.

View from the top of the Großer Arber. Despite the clouds over the valley (and the mountain), it didn't rain all day.

005
Of course we also climbed to the summit of the Großer Arber.

015
After a short climb we arrived at the German-Czech border, where we had this view. The storm clouds were coming our way quite fast.

016
We enjoyed a cup of tea and a piece of apple pie while we waited for the storm to pass.

017
The German-Czech border was indicated by posts and stones every few metres.
