AstroChem Seminars

About the seminars

The goal of the AstroChem Seminars is to make the members of the Astrochemistry Group of the Leiden Observatory more familiar with each other’s work and with relevant research conducted by people from outside the group. The seminars take place in a relatively small room, with typically about twenty people attending. This setting stimulates interaction and discussion between the speaker and the audience.

Speakers include members of the Astrochemistry Group (each member is expected to give a seminar once a year), visiting scientists, and people applying for a position within the group. We try to organize the seminars at a fixed time and location each week, but due to various reasons, this is not always possible. All seminars are announced by email a few days in advance.

As of April 2009, the seminars are organized by Lars Kristensen. He maintains a list of upcoming seminars and he can be contacted for further information.
